Counseling Service
Skill Training and Development
Our Approach
When targeted towards LAR, these services consist of increasing the LAR’s or primary caregiver’s understanding and ability to respond to the client’s needs identified in individualized plan of care.
This training addresses:
- Serious mental illness or severe emotional disturbance and symptom-related problems that interfere with the client’s functioning and living, working, and learning environment.
- Provides opportunities for the client to acquire and improve skills needed to function as appropriately and independently as possible in the community.
- The client’s community integration and increases his or her community tenure.
TIRS’ skill training and development interventions focus on the improvement of communication skills, appropriate interpersonal behaviors and other skills necessary for independent living, when age appropriate or functioning effectively with family, peers, and teachers.
